The Wild Salt River horses have been roaming free for over 100 years. There is extensive evidence to prove this. They are an essential part of Arizona, the agricultural and economy. The Salt River horses need to be protected under the wild horse and burro act of 1971. (photo: Salt River Wild Horse Management Group)
The Nokota Horse Conservancy is a nonprofit organization established in 1999 to preserve the unique and historical Nokota Horse.
Wild horse advocacy is considered one of the most efficient grassroots movements in the nation. This was confirmed in 2006 by several Members of Congress polled by the Institute for a Democratic Future, who called AWHPC to congratulate wild horse advocates on their grassroots efforts. We thank our coalition partners, who endorse our mission and join us in advancing our goals on behalf of America's wild horses and burros. (photo: jeanne bencich nations)
